Academic Research Fellow - Forest Socio-economics 

 

We are looking for a motivated researcher to join a cutting-edge interdisciplinary research group dedicated to forest ecosystem research led by leading scientist, Professor Douglas L. Godbold. The team is studying the impacts of projected climate scenarios on Central European forests. 

Research field:

perceptions of ecosystem services

forests and human well-being

social and economic consequences of declining forest health

 What will you do?

  • engage in research and teaching activities within the Czech Republic and on the EU level
  • publish research results in high-impact journals
  • supervise MA and PhD theses in the selected scientific domain
  • teach MA-level and PhD-level courses
  • participate in dissemination activities
  • organise research and development activities
  • build research collaborations inside the MENDELU and develop fruitful partnerships with research groups outside of MENDELU
  • actively seek research and development funding and leading grant projects

 

What are our requirements?

  • university education at the level of Ph.D. or associate professor
  • excellent level of English
  • knowledge of Czech language at B2 level
  • at least five years of experience in the field
  • management skills
  • potential for professional graduation (Prof.)
  • evidence of publishing in high-ranked scientific journals
  • active international cooperation and involvement in research networks
